Wisconsic Right to Life Files Brief in Supreme Court On November 14, 2005, Wisconsin Right to Life filed their brief with the Supreme Court in the Case Wisconsin Right to Life v. FEC. Appeal Order May 12, 2005 Wisconsin Right to Life (W RT L), plaintiff in litigation against the Federal Election Commission in the US District Court for the District of Columbia , gave notice this week that it is appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court. The case involves an "as applied" challenge to the "electioneering communications" provisions of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act. After losing a motion for preliminary injunction before a three-judge court in the summer of 2004, W RT L unsuccessfully sought an injunction pending appeal from Chief Justice William Rehnquist. WRTL Files Reply Brief in Support of Motion for Summary Judgment. On Monday, April 4th, 2005 , the Wisconsin Right to Life (WRTL) filed a reply brief in support of its motion for summary judgment. The brief argues that the FEC is ignoring new arguments the WRTL has laid out and that the amicus brief of the Legal Center should not be considered. Click here to read reply brief.
Wisconsin Right to Life Appeals Case to U.S. Supreme Court On Tuesday, September 7th, the Wisconsin Right to Life (WRtL) filed a motion for injunction pending appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court in its continued effort to obtain court approval to broadcast advertisements that are covered by the electioneering communications provisions of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act.
On September 9, Chief Justice William Rehnquist issued an order asking the FEC to file a response by September 13.
