The issue presented is whether the requirement that corporations make candidate campaign expenditures through individual funds voluntarily raised, first enacted as the Corrupt Practices Act of 1912 and now codified at Mont. Code Ann. § 13-35-227, abridges the freedom of speech guaranteed by U.S. Const. amends. I and XIV, or impairs the freedom of speech guaranteed by Mont. Const. art. II, § 7.
