The Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 (FECA, Pub.L. 92–225, 86 Stat. 3, enacted February 7, 1972, 2 U.S.C. § 431 et seq.) is a United States federal law designed to increase disclosure of contributions forfederal campaigns. It was amended in 1974 to place legal limits on thecampaign contributions.
