McComish v. Bennett: Petitioners’ (McComish, et al.) petition for a writ of certiorari

Petitioners’ (McComish, et al.) petition for a writ of certiorari. The questions presented are whether the First Amendment forbids Arizona from providing additional government subsidies to publicly financed candidates that are triggered by independent expenditure groups’ speech against such candidates; and whether the First Amendment forbids Arizona from providing additional government subsidies to publicly financed candidates that are triggered by the fundraising or expenditures by these candidates’ privately financed opponents. Petitioners request that the Court grant both their petition for a writ of certiorari and that of the McComish plaintiffs and that the Court consolidate both petitions for consideration.
