Congressmen Pence and Wynn Introduce 527 Fairness Act of 2005

On March, 15, 2005 Representative Mike Pence (R-IN) and Albert R. Wynn (D-MD) introduced legislation to repeal the aggregate limit on the contributions individuals can give to party committees in an election. The bill would make it possible for a federal officeholder to solicit, and a wealthy individal to contribute, up to $1,160,200 in a single cycle, undermining the basic foundation of campaign finance law.
