Congressman Tanner Introduces Fairness and Independence in Redistricting Act of 2005

On May 25, 2005, Rep. John S. Tanner (D-TN) and twenty cosponsors introduced legislation in Congress to prohibit states from carrying out more than one Congressional redistricting afer a decennial census, and further, to require states to conduct such redistricting through independent commissions.
