May 18, 2006 -- Legal Center Adds a New Attorney & a Communications Director The Campaign Legal Center announced today that it is expanding its legal and communications staffs. Eva Howe joins the Center as an Associate Legal Counsel, and David Vance will assume the role of Communications and Research Director.
In addition to working with the Center's litigation team, Ms. Howe will also contribute to the government ethics and lobbying reform initiatives. Mr. Vance will oversee the Center's public and media relations outreach and research projects.
" The additions of Eva and David will bolster our existing staff and help us to further the goals of the Campaign Legal Center ," said Trevor Potter, former Chairman of the Federal Election Commission and president of the Campaign Legal Center. " Eva's experience on Capitol Hill and David's background as both a journalist and public relations professional will nicely complement existing staff expertise ."
Ms. Howe comes to the Campaign Legal Center from the staff of the House Rules Committee where she served as Research Director for the Minority staff. A native of Texas, Howe is a graduate of the Houston Law Center and the University of Texas at Austin.
A former television and radio reporter, Vance brings a rare blend of public relations and journalism experience to the Campaign Legal Center. He has worked for public relations and lobbying firms in his hometown of Washington, D.C. and most recently served as Public Affairs Director for an international trade association. Mr. Vance holds an M.S.J. from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and an M.F.A. in creative writing from George Mason University.
