Reginald Thedford Jr

Prior to working at CLC, Reggie served as the Deputy Political Director/Director of Rights Restoration for Stand Up America for three years. While at Stand Up America, Reggie managed all of the organization’s work on voting rights restoration for people with felony convictions, in addition to managing a number of state & federal voting rights campaigns including, but not limited to, the Freedom to Vote Act, state versions of the John R. Lewis VRA, and national popular vote. Reggie also served as a moderator at Netroots Nation 2021 panel “Ending Felony Disenfranchisement to Better Our Democracy,” and served on the 2023 planning committee for the first national convening dedicated to ending felony disenfranchisement, “Civic Power: Challenging 50 Years of Mass Incarceration.” Prior to that, Reggie worked as a freelance policy consultant and lobbyist for mission driven organizations such as Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin and Together Wisconsin.

Reggie received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School, which is where his passion for democracy reform was enhanced. While in law school he published an article in the Indiana Journal of Law & Social Equality entitled, "Ex-Felon Disenfranchisement and the Fifteenth Amendment: A Constitutional Challenge to Post-Sentence Disenfranchisement." He received his Bachelors from Eastern Illinois University.
